ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS

Electric power supply 230V~50Hz.
The unit must be connected directly to an electri-
cal outlet or to a separate circuit.
• Install a device, master switch or electric plug
that allows disconnecting the appliance's power
supply.
To protect the unit against short circuits, fit an om-
nipolar magnet-circuit breaker 2A 250V (IG) to the
CONTROL PANELS
Some versions are equipped with an on-board control
panel, others can be combined with accessories (see
Compatibility Table).
If you use control panels supplied by third parties, we
recommend carefully checking the electrical character-
istics. Always refer to the relevant documentation.
The control panels can be wall-mounted or installed on
board the unit according to the versions.
In wall-mounted installations the panel can be fitted on
a metal wall, unless it is permanently connected to the
earth plug.
CONNECTIONS TO THE ELECTRIC MOTORS
The electric connections to the 3 ventilation
speeds are indicated on the terminal board fitted
on the side of the fan coil.
Always refer to the wiring diagrams of the appliance
UNIT WITH UPGRADED MOTOR
Some fan coils are equipped with 6- or 7-speed up-
graded motor.
Electric connections, specified on the terminal
board on the side of the fan coil, indicate 3 ven-
tilation speeds.
The units come ready to run in standard configura-
tion with 3 preset speeds.
The speed connectors are positioned directly on the

COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION

• Completing the installation
- Connect the accessories.
- Install the air filter.
• Checks
- Power up the fan coil and check the operation of
the components and of all the functions.
- Some models with electronic thermostat allow
you to check the proper operation though the
Autotest procedure, the function is described in
the manuals supplied with the unit.
Run an operating and condensate drain system

power supply line with a minimum contact opening
distance of 3 mm.
We recommend using a B type residual current de-
vice.
The following measures must be considered for in-
stallations with three-phase power supply:
1. In the presence of 3P + N isolators or magnet cir-
cuit breakers, the release current must be at least
170% of the value absorbed by the overall load of
the fan coils for each phase.
2. The neutral wire section must be sized conside-
ringa working current equal to 170% of the value
absorbed by the overall load of the fan coils for
each phase.
ATTENTION: In order to avoid any danger due to
the accidental rearming of the thermal cut-out
device, this appliance must not be powered with
an external switching device, such as a timer, or be
connected to a circuit that is regularly powered or
disconnected from the service.
ATTENTION: it is mandatory to connect the Phase
(L) and the Neutral (N) power supply cables to the
relative clamps. Do not reverse the connections.
Follow the wiring diagram.
ATTENTION: earthing is mandatory.
SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CONNECTION CABLES
For the electric power supply, use integral cables
with suitable section for the load.
Use H05V-K or N07V-K power cables with 300/500
V insulation enclosed inside a pipe or trough.
All the cables must be enclosed inside a pipe
In the case of coupling with remote control panels
comply with the relevant wiring diagram. Before
installing the control panel carefully read the
instructions, if necessary proceed with the config-
uration of the panel.
Connect the valves and the probe to the terminal
board according to the positions specified in the
wiring diagram
VMF System includes a complete range of thermo-
stats, control panels and components that if prop-
erly combined allow the control of the single unit
up to a complex network.
and of the control panel.
The connections between the electric motor and
the control panel must comply with the wiring
diagrams.
Some control panels may have speeds encoded
with different numbers with respect to the mo-
motor, they can be accessed after removing the
filter and the frontal protections.
In 6-speed versions the speed connections are
directed towards the filter. If you want to use a
different speed set, move the 3-pole connector to
the faston connectors corresponding to the de-
sired speed set (see drawings).
In 7-speed versions the terminal board is protect-
ed by a plastic cover fastened to the motor with
seal test by pouring water in the tray.
or trough until they are inside the fan coil. The
cables at the outlet of the pipe or cable trough
must be positioned in a way not to undergo trac-
tion or twisting stress and be however, protected
from external agents.
Cables with strand can only be used with crimped
connectors. Make sure that the strands are well
inserted.
If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be
replaced with a new cable of adequate section.
Have the repair made by "Qualified personnel",
in order to prevent any risk.
Do not repair damaged cables
The wiring diagrams are subject to constant updat-
ing and it is therefore, mandatory to refer to those
on the machine.
In the VMF system, the thermostats and the con-
trol panels are separate components. The ther-
mostats can be fitted on the side of the fan coils,
the control panels, based on the versions, can be
installed on board the unit or on the wall.
tor, always and only refer to the definitions: Mini-
mum, Medium and Maximum speed.
2 screws. If you want to use a different speed set,
move the connectors to the 3 clamps correspond-
ing to the desired speed set (see drawings).
It is recommended to configure the speeds during
installation.
