Installing and Removing the Lens (See Figure
The 5540 IP Console is shipped with the plastic lens and a fixed designation

removing the lens and replacing the card.
The lens is held in place with four tabs, two along the upper edge and two along
the lower edge.
To remove the lens:
• Pull up on the lens on both the left and right side at the access cutouts.
Lens will bend across its length and the tabs will pull out and pop free from
the cutout slots.
• Remove the desi card by standing the console on its forward nose and
tipping it so the card drops out.
To replace a fixed designation card and lens:
Place the designation card over the keyboard keys and place the overlay
lens on top of the designated card by following step 2 below.
Place the lens over the keyboard area and insert the tabs along the upper
edge into the two tab slots at the top edge of the keyboard area.
Slightly bend the lens along its length, just enough to allow the bottom edge
tabs to engage into the slots at the lower edge of the keyboard area.
The lens should snap itself flat with all four tabs fully engaged into their
respective slots.
