43 Removing workpieces using an HPP puller internally
1. Unscrew the front and rear ring from the puller, so
that the cylinder slides.
2. Slightly loosen the nuts of the pull rods and position
them so that they rest on the bore in which the
workpiece is mounted.
3. Set the valve to 'ADVANCE' and start pumping. Keep
pumping until the plunger is fully extended.
4. Turn the nut of the inner puller to the left to draw the
puller arms inwards.
5. Place the inner puller in the workpiece to be removed.
6. Turn the nut of the inner puller to the right until it
clamps in the workpiece.
7. Mount the puller unit onto the inner puller.
8. Check the position of the pull rods.
9. Turn the rear ring of the cylinder as far as possible to
the front.
10. Check that the puller is still centered on the shaft.
Adjust if necessary.
11. Set the valve to 'RETRACT' and pump 2 strokes until
everything clamps together. Check the centering once again.
12. Place the lever into the holder.
13. Hold the puller tight with 1 hand and pump with the other hand. The plunger presses
against the bore and the workpiece comes loose.
14. Clean the puller and store it after use in the case supplied
44 Mounting jobs using an HPP puller
1. Check that there is an M12x1.75 threaded hole
of 30mm deep in the centre hole of the shaft. If
necessary, drill the hole yourself.
2. Screw the connector securely in the centre hole.
3. Set the valve to 'ADVANCE' and start pumping. Keep
pumping until the plunger is fully extended.
4. Turn the rings of the cylinder apart as far as possible.
5. Mount the puller unit onto the connector
6. Unscrew the nuts of the pull rods. Position the pull
rods so that the shaft fits between the claws. Tighten
the nuts hand-tight.
7. Turn the rear ring of the cylinder as far as possible to
the front.
8. Set the valve to 'RETRACT' and pump 2 strokes until
everything clamps together. Check the centering once
again.
9. Place the lever into the holder.
10. Hold the puller tight with 1 hand and pump with
the other hand. The plunger presses against the
workpiece and the workpiece slides onto the shaft.
11. Once mounting is complete, remove the puller from the connector and screw the
connector from the shaft.
12. Clean the puller and store it after use in the case supplied.
