7 Customising the volume compensation sock
7.1 Shortening the volume compensation sock
The volume compensation sock can be shortened to 5 fixed lengths without
having to create additional seams.
Please follow these instructions:
The volume compensation sock can be shortened at the black-coded separation
points without the occurrence of ladders.
To do this, turn the volume compensation sock inside out and loosen the
black excess thread at the desired separation point in order to simplify the
following steps (see Fig. 1).
Turn the volume compensation sock back to the right side and stretch it so
that the black mesh is easy to see. Within the black stitch row, cut through one
stitch each at 4 opposite sides using a fine, sharp pair of scissors (see Fig. 2).
Use your fingertips to loosen the separating thread from the 4 cutting points
(see Fig. 3).
Pull firmly on the loosened thread and remove the black stitch row completely.
Repeat the procedure as many times as necessary (see Fig. 4).
When the desired piece is completely removed, cut the remaining grey con-
necting thread so that they are flush (see Fig. 5).
This technology means that additional stitching down of the seam is not
necessary (see Fig. 6).
