7.2 Special instructions
• Prior to applying the volume compensation sock, the stump condition has to
be examined in detail and documented by a trusted prosthetist technician
(see "Contraindications").
• If pain occurs during wearing, please remove the volume compensation sock
immediately and consult your prosthetist technician.
• Be careful with sharp fingernails or jewelry! To avoid damage to the fabric,
please reach in gently with your fingers.
• Selecting the correct size is essential for function and wearing comfort.
• The volume compensation sock must be carefully washed before first use.
8 Donning the volume compensation sock
Pull the volume compensation sock up over the liner until it is above the
sealing lips. Make sure that the volume compensation sock fits snugly and
wrinkle-free. The adhesive tape on the inside must be positioned above the
sealing lips. Then put on the prosthesis as usual.
Attention!
If the volume compensation sock covers one or more sealing lips,
the vacuum may get lost and the prosthesis may detach. Please
do not wear more than two volume compensation socks over
each other (see Fig. 7).
