Placing and filling

The tanks are to be smoothly placed into the pre-
pared pit using suitable equipment.
To prevent distortion, the tanks are filled 1/3 full with
water before filling the pit. Then the covering (round-
ed gravel max. granulation 8/16 mm) is filled and
compacted layer by layer in max. 300 mm incre-
ments up to the top of the tank.

Each layer must be well compacted (hand tamper).
Avoid damaging the tank during compacting. Me-

chanical compacting machines may not be used
under any circumstances. The covering must be at
least 500 mm wide. Especially in the bottom area, it
is important to ensure adequate compaction.
