Use only VITO-approved tools for this machine or
technically identical parts. Not doing so may result in
personal injuries or damages to the sander. In case of
doubt, lack of knowledge or resources, you should contact
an official dealer.
Your belt sander should only be serviced by the
manufacturer's internal service personnel, or other
qualified personnel, replacing any necessary parts with
original parts sourced directly from the manufacturer.
1. Fit the dust collector (6) by pushing it all the way in;
2. The dust is extracted directly into the dust collector
through the sanding base plate (8);
3. Pull the dust collector to remove it once again.
For safety reasons, it is essential to use the dust
collector or a dust extraction system.
To connect the sander to a vacuum cleaner, you need to
remove the dust collector and place the vacuum adaptor in
its place. Then simply attach the vacuum cleaner hose to
the adaptor.
Use only sanding belts with the corresponding dimensions.
Select a sanding belt that suits the material you are going
to work on.
▪ Pull the tension lever (7) to relieve the tension on the
sanding belt. Pull the lever all the way;
▪ Remove the old sanding belt;
▪ Install the new sanding belt. Pay attention to the arrows
which indicate the direction of rotation of the sanding
belt and base plate. The arrows must point in the same
direction;
▪ Set the tension lever to the original position.
After replacing the sanding belt, you have to adjust its
position.
▪ Plug the power cord into a socket and hold the sander
by the two handles (3, 4);
▪ Press the "ON/OFF" switch (11) to switch on the sander;
▪ Check if the sanding belt is centered. If the sanding belt
isn't aligned, you have to adjust it to the position;
▪ Turn the belt adjustment screw (1) until the sanding belt
is center positioned.
When working with the belt sander, you should consider
some precautions and operating procedures:
▪ Hold the sander firmly. Loss of control of the sander can
cause serious injury;
▪ When working on loose or small parts, use fixing devices
to secure the parts firmly;
▪ Do not apply excessive pressure to the sander against
the workpiece/object. If speed decreases abruptly,
reduce the pressure on the sander immediately;
▪ Never put down the belt sander before the sanding base
plate (8) has completely stopped;
▪ Wear hearing protection when using the sander. Noise
exposure may cause hearing loss;
▪ Switch the belt sander off immediately if any of the
following problems occur:
- Leakage of lubricant through ventilation slots;
- Damage to the sander housing;
- Damage to the "ON/OFF" switch;
- Appearance of smoke or characteristic burning smell.
The belt sander is equipped with a variable speed control
dial (9), with 6 speed levels.
Level 1: Lower speed.
Level 6: Higher speed.
