7 Application
7.1 Donning
To simplify the application of the silicone liner, please use the 10H5 Skin Care Donning Spray.
Dampening the silicone liner surface with the spray helps to make the application considerably easier
(see Fig. 2).
Attention!
Please never try to put on the silicone liner without spray.
Turn the silicone liner inside out and ensure that the inner surface stays absolutely clear of spray
(see Fig. 3).
Please make sure that the silicone liner has been turned completely. Now apply the inner curved
surface onto the stump end (see Fig. 4).
Turn the silicone liner inside out and roll the end piece as far down as possible (see Fig. 5).
Place the end piece onto the stump-end without letting in any air and slowly roll the silicone
liner over the stump (see Fig. 6).
Roll the silicone liner all the way up. Do not pull or tear (see Fig. 7).
Attention!
Make sure that the residual limb does not build up skin folds and that air pockets
do not develop between stump and silicone liner. This will impair the functionality
of the prosthesis and causes additional stress on the stump. Volume fluctuation of
the residual limb can be evened out by stump socks (e.g. Item-no. 25A10 Ter-
rycloth-BK Stump Sock). These are worn on top of the silicone liner (see Fig. 8).
7.2 Doffing
Doffing is done in reverse sequence. Roll the silicone liner over the residual limb and knee joint.
Attention!
Please take special care, that the silicone liner is not exposed to chemicals and
substances such as acids, dust or sand!
After each short-time use in salt or chlorinated water, the silicone liner must
be thoroughly rinsed inside and outside with fresh water.
Afterwards, the liner must be placed on the supplied stand to dry.
Failure to observe these instructions will make any claims against Streifeneder
ortho.production GmbH null and void.
Please inform your prosthesis wearer accordingly!
