Emissivity
In Setup mode, press the Mode button until the emissivity icon [11] lights up. Use the Up and Down buttons to change the emissivity value.
To make sure that the device measures the temperature most accurately, please set the emissivity value according to the emissivity of the
measured surface's material (see Appendix 1).
Press the Mode button to move to the next setting or hold it for two seconds to exit the Setup mode.
Temperature unit
In Setup mode, press the mode button until the icon of the currently selected temperature unit (°C [8] or °F [7]) lights up.
Use the Up and Down buttons to switch between degrees Celsius and degrees Fahrenheit.
Press the Mode button to move to the next setting or hold it for two seconds to exit the Setup mode.
Distance
The device has a specific viewing angle:
Measured target
Make sure that the device's field of view covers the measured surface completely and that it doesn't cover any other object. The larger the
object, the greater the distance to it; the smaller the object, the smaller the distance. The optimal distance/object size ratio (D:S) is 12:1, unit
of measurement is mm (please refer to the scheme below).
Emissivity
The emissivity (ε) of the surface of a material is its effectiveness in emitting energy as thermal radiation. The higher the emissivity, the more
radiation the material emits. The emissivity of most organic materials and metals falls in the range of 0.85–0.95. The default emissivity
setting of the device is 0.95.
For more accurate measurement results, it is recommended to adjust the emissivity according to the table of the emissivities of different
materials (see Appendix 1).
