Adjusting the level of water hardness
∙ The unit gives you a descaling notification. Depending
on the water quality (lime content), the
flash after 600, 500 (factory setting) or 400 cup cycles.
∙ To ensure proper functioning of the descaling
notification, the level of water hardness in your area
must be set.
∙ The level of water hardness can be set for soft, normal
or hard water.
∙ Enter the Change factory settings mode (see Change
factory settings).
∙ Press
briefly to enter the 'water hardness' mode.
∙ Press one of the following buttons for 3 seconds to set
the required water hardness:
∙
: soft water (< 8.4 °dH)
∙
: medium hard water (8.4 – 14 °dH)
∙
: hard water (> 14 °dH / 2.5 mmol/l)
∙ After 3 seconds, the
confirm the new setting. The unit returns to 'Ready'
mode.
Automatic switch-off
∙ This appliance comes with an automatic switch-off
feature.
∙ The unit automatically switches off after 25 minutes of
non-use.
∙ The duration until automatic switch-off can set at 9
minutes, 25 minutes (factory setting) or 3 hours:
∙ Enter the Change factory settings mode (see Change
factory settings).
∙ Press
briefly to enter the Automatic switch-off
mode.
∙ Press one of the following buttons for 3 seconds to set
the desired auto switch-off time:
∙
: 9 minutes
∙
: 25 minutes
∙
: 3 hours
∙ After 3 seconds, the
confirm the new setting. The unit returns to 'Ready'
mode.
Changing the espresso temperature
∙ The temperature of the espresso can be adjusted to low,
medium (factory setting) and high.
∙ Adjust the temperature as follows:
∙ Enter the Change factory settings mode (see Change
factory settings).
∙ Press
briefly to enter the Changing the espresso
temperature mode.
∙ Press one of the following buttons for 3 seconds to set
the desired temperature:

: medium

: high
∙ After 3 seconds, the

Changing the espresso amount
∙ The amount of espresso per cup can be adjusted
individually.
∙ Proceed as described in Making espresso, but keep the

∙ This amount setting is now saved for future cups. The
amount of espresso must be between 15 and 220 ml.
Any other quantities cannot be saved.
∙ The default factory setting is 20 ml/cup.
Cleaning and care
∙ Remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the
appliance has cooled down.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the
appliance with liquids or immerse it.
∙ Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
∙ Allow the panarello to cool down after each use,
then remove and clean it with hot soapy water. The
small aperture on the centre of the panarello must be
unobstructed at all times. If necessary, remove any
blockage using a fine needle.
∙ Wipe the outside of the steam tube with a damp cloth.
∙ Allow the sieve holder to cool down sufficiently before
tapping its side against a vertical surface to loosen the
grounds before emptying it.
∙ The indentations on the filter holder facilitate removing
the filter sieve; use the fingers to pull the sieve out from
above.
∙ The filter holder, filter inserts and drip tray may be
cleaned in warm water using a mild detergent; do not
clean these parts in a dish-washer.
∙ Remove the water container and pour out any remaining
water. Clean the container with soapy water and dry
thoroughly.
∙ The exterior housing may be wiped with a damp, lint-
free cloth.
