Setting Up a Wireless LAN
Environment — when a zero
configuration card is used
Set up IP address, Name servers and Wireless
Networks.

From the Start menu, click Control Panel in the
Network Projector window.

Double-click the Network Connections icon.
The window appears and the available network
icons are displayed.

Double-click the icon of the Wireless LAN.
The settings dialog box appears.

Confirm that the "Specify an IP address" radio
button is selected, and set the necessary items.
The IP Address is initially set to "Obtain an IP
address via DHCP" at the factory.

Click the Name Servers tab to display the Name
Servers dialog box, then set the necessary items.

Click the Wireless Networks tab to display the
Wireless Networks dialog box and click the access
point to be connected.

Click the OK button.
Setting Up a Wireless LAN
Environment — when a VAIO or
ORiNOCO wireless LAN PC card
is used
Set up IP address, Name servers and Wireless
Networks.
Using a wireless LAN access point
Set up the access point you are connecting to as
follows.

From the Start menu, click Control Panel in the
Network Projector window.

Double-click the Wireless LAN icon.
The Wireless LAN settings dialog box appears.

Click the radio button for Nickname, and type a
nickname in the selected text box.

Click the Edit button.
The Access Point settings dialog box appears.

Enter a Nickname.
The Nickname identifies the access point. Enter up
to 32 characters for the Nickname using
alphanumeric characters and symbols (ASCII
characters). If multiple access points exist, make
sure to assign a different name to each one.
