A plastic container with an exact hole in the
lid contributes to the safety. If a gluing
apparatus accidently tips over no glue can
escape into the pressure container.
Glue in the pressure container means danger! The pressure gauge and safety valve
can become blocked and be unable to carry out their important functions.

B Putting the Gluing Apparatus into Operation
1. Fit hose – do not forget sealing ring!
2. Fill empty container supplied with glue and fit lid with hole in it. When using
new glue containers bore or punch holes in the lid according to the dimensions
given.
3. Place container in pressure container.
4. Fit lid onto pressure container.
5. Lift up clamps.
6. Tighten down thump screws crosswise
and check that each clamp sits firmly
over the rim of the lid.
7. Pressurize apparatus to about 4,5 bar
using compressed air line or foot pump.
Never open the lid without releasing the
pressure.
C Gluing
Glue Pistol
As, in most cases, success or failure
depends on the dosage this detail has been
given a lot of thought. The setting is step-
less from a thick jet to a drip-feed.
Before you start gluing the actual job we
recommend that you make a practice run
with the standard accessories supplied. You
will soon realise which are the important
points and be able to glue quickly and
cleanly.
Even the way the nozzle is fitted is impor-
tant.
The connection between pistol and nozzle
is made with a bayonet connection. The seal
is on the faces, therefore tighten well and
keep clean.
This happens with incorrect tightening.
1. Hold pistol correctly and screw back metering nut as far as it will go. The pistol
handle is now fully unloaded and no glue can escape.
The metering nut is a tight fit. It has been specially designed this way so that,
once set, it cannot move.
2. Fit pointed nozzle.
3. Turn metering nut until the pistol handle
lifts slightly.
4. Press pistol lever down to pistol. Glue
flows.
By turning the metering nut the quantity of glue can be increased.
For most jobs the pistol lever must only be opened a few millimeters.
Another important point is the work rate. It must be suited to the glue quantity.
Please carry out trials with various work rates.
Before you start work with a new nozzle we recommend that you make a few
practice runs, because every nozzle has its own characteristics.
Handled properly the pistol will give perfect service.
If the pistol should leak it does not mean that it is defective. Lumps in the glue can
suddenly prevent it from closing. Remedy: Enlarge opening by means of the me-
tering nut and let out a small quantity of glue. Release the lever quickly.
If the pistol still leaks, lower the air pressure immediately. Clean apparatus – see
«Cleaning».
