G e n e r a l i n f o r m a t i o n :
All versions use a Hall-Sensor to measure the oil level. A magnetic float changes
its position according to the oil level. The hall sensor converts these magnetic
field changes into an equivalent signal, which is used by the internal electronic
to show the actual oil level with the LED's. For application in refrigeration
systems according to EN 378.
Notes:
OW is developed for HFC refrigerants, subcritical CO
blends.
OW5 is specially adapted to the requirements of transcritical CO
and has to be used with dedicated types of CO

1. Preparation: Remove plug or sight glass from thread on compressor and make sure

- Inspect thread part and sealing surface is free of nicks and burrs.

- Tighten by wrench with 80 Nm for 3/4"-14NPTF connections
- Do not turn backward!
Warning: Over or insufficient tightening, will damage the thread or cause
the leakage.

4. Remove and discard the screw transport holder (9) from the back side, which

Note: For proper function the unit must be installed horizontally by rotating

8. Tighten the three screws (7 & 8) only hand tight, then gradually and evenly in ½
turns until reaching the dedicated torque of 12 Nm. This procedure is mandatory
to achieve full leak tightness.

Adapter types: OM0-CCD, OM0-CCE + CO
1. Remove and discard the screw transport holder (9) from the back side,
which secure screws and sight glass during transportation.
2. Locate O-ring (10) into the Adapter. (front side).
3. Locate the stamped groove into the adapter (15/17) in line with the base unit
(1) marking (Fig.2).
4. Mount the base unit (1) including O-ring (10) to the adapter (15/17).
5. Tighten the three screws (7 & 8) only hand tight, then gradually and evenly
in ½ turns until reaching the dedicated torque of 12 Nm. This procedure is
mandatory to achieve full leak tightness.
6. Remove the sight glass from the compressor.
7. Mount supplied PTFE gasket (18) into nut of adapter (17). Put entire
assembly to compressor connection and while holding horizontally to
comply with Fig.3, tighten by hand and apply torque of 90 Nm for OM0-
CCD (wrench size 50 mm) and 65 Nm for OM0-CCE (wrench size 42 mm).
Note 1: For proper function the unit must be installed horizontally (Fig.3).
Note 2: Check Rotalock adapters for tightness after 1-2 days of operation.

Adapter types: OM0-CUA, OM0-CCC + CO
The use of flange type adapter is applicable to vessels having the same holes
arrangement as adapter. This insures the horizontal installation of OW (Fig.3).
1. Follow steps 1 - 6 like Rotalock installation.
2. Mount O-ring (16) between adapter (15) and compressor. Uses screws M6
(not part of delivery) and tighten acc. to compressor manufacturer
instruction.
P r e s s u r e T e s t :
After completion of installation, a pressure test must be carried out as follows:
- according to EN 378 for systems which must comply with European pressure
equipment directive 14/68/EU.
- to maximum working pressure of system for other applications.
Warning:
• Failure to do so could result in loss of refrigerant and personal injury.
• The pressure test must be conducted by skilled persons with due respect
regarding the danger related to pressure
T i g h t n e s s T es t :
Conduct a tightness test acc. to EN 378-2 with appropriate equipment and
method to identify leakages of external joints.
