CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
A correct maintenance of this appliance is
a guarantee of good functioning and good
performance over a long period.
WARNING: Each time an intervention or in-
ternal cleaning is carried out (by qualified
personnel) on the extraction hood, always
ensure that the appliance is disconnected
from the electricity mains circuit. For this
reason the power supply cable must be
easily accessible.
STAINLESS STEEL HOODS
To clean and conserve the steel, proceed with
the same as for enamelled hoods, applying a
neutral soapy solution on a cloth and succes-
sively rinsing with a humid cloth.
Once it is dry, apply the Pando Stainless Steel
Cleaner to even out the bright or shadowy
zones that sometimes occur following clean-
ing and leaving it homogenous and perfect.
It is EXTREMELY DAMAGING to use ACIDS,
AMMONIAC, CHLORIDE OR DERIVATES for
cleaning stainless steel.
These products can destroy the chemical
characteristics of stainless steel, causing par-
tial or total oxidisation, black marks, shading
with a different sheen, etc.
Particular attention must be paid to acids (hy-
drochloric acid, etching acid, bleach, etc.). In
some cases it is not even necessary to ap-
ply the product directly on the steel to cause
deterioration; the fumes or vapours from the
acid liberated in the air is enough to cause
deterioration.
The models that have the Sec System tray; it
is forbidden to remove or extract it from the
hood to clean it. The external part that is vis-
ible of the tray is cleaned from the outside.
VERY IMPORTANT:
In the case of industrial cleaning of new
constructions or restorations, it must be
remembered that the kitchen environment
must be perfectly ventilated after clean-
ing to avoid the above-mentioned fumes
and vapours from remaining. If this is not
done, irreversible damage will be caused
to the stainless steel. Those responsible
for the cleaning must respect the prohibi-
tion of using cleaning products like those
mentioned above that directly damage
stainless steel.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
During cleaning operations of the hood it
must be kept in mind that when rubbing with
a soft cloth it is necessary to rub in a hori-
zontal or vertical direction of the hood finish
so as to avoid scratches.
After, apply the exclusive product Pando
Stainless Steel Cleaner, Shiner and Protec-
tor to highlight the sheen and make the
surface finish uniform. This product can be
purchased through normal sales outlets or
through our large network of Technical As-
sistance Service.
ALUMINIUM AND STAINLESS STEEL FILTERS:
It is recommended to wash them every 10
days.
Aluminium and stainless steel filters should
be substituted with new filters once a year
if the hood is operated on an average daily
basis.
Operate the handle only to extract the anti-
grease metal filter and pull it out towards the
front guide, then slightly tilt the filter down-
wards and extract it towards the rear guide.
To reposition it, carry out the operation in
reverse order.
If the washing is carried out in a DISHWASHER
respect the instructions. It is ALWAYS NECES-
SARY to carry out the washing with a SHORT
PROGRAMME IN WHICH DRYING IS NOT EF-
FECTUATED AND NEITHER IS THE SHINING.
If by mistake a complete wash is carried out
with drying and shining, the filters can be-
come blackened or marked by different to-
nalities.
