WARNING: Only push the machine backwards but
not using the steering column. (Fig. C)
Before closing the cover do not forget to release its
support bracket. (Fig. 23)
MAIN BROOM ADJUSTMENT AND
REPLACEMENT
WARNING: these operations must be carried out
with the machine stopped, the key switched off and
with the machine on level ground.
When the main broom becomes fairly worn, its
height must be adjusted to provide the best
sweeping performance.
Loosen the bolts (items A Fig. 8) on both sides of
the machine, and lower the broom to the ground
by moving the indicators (B) to the proper height.
The indicator (B) must be placed in the same
position on both sides of the machine.
Check the correct position of the main broom in the
following way:
With the machine stopped, turn the main broom on
for 5-10 seconds. Stop the main broom and then
move the machine. Verify that the pattern created
by the broom on the floor has a width of 2-4cm
(0.75-1,5in)(Fig. 9).
If the brush does not operate efficiently repeat the
adjustment. When the broom is heavily worn, it
must be replaced.
To proceed, lift the cover in order to release the
main broom safety device (Fig. 21). Then loosen the
bolt on the left side of the machine as shown in
Figure 10.
Remove the cover by pushing it down (Fig. 11)
Pull out the worn broom. (Fig. 12)
FIG. C
In case the new broom does not have a flange
remove the flange from the old broom core and
assemble it on the new broom. Keep the broom in
the same orientation (Fig. 13)
Note: before inserting the new broom, rotate the
broom height to the position that is farthest away
from the ground. Insert the new brush and make
sure that the hub is inserted correctly onto the
flange.
Replace the cover and tighten the locking screw.
SIDE BRUSH ADJUSTMENT AND
REPLACEMENT
WARNING: these operations must be carried out
with the machine stopped, the key switched off,
the parking brake set and with the machine on
level ground.
When a side broom become fairly worn, its height
must be adjusted to provide the best sweeping
performance.
To adjust the height of the side broom, follow the
instructions below:
Lower the broom and, loosen the handwheel A
(Fig. 15). Turn the lever B clockwise or
counterclockwise until the brush touches the
ground as shown in Figure 16.
After adjusting the height, re-tighten the
handwheel A to lock the lever B.
To check the broom pattern, start the broom and
verify that it touches the ground as shown in figure
16.
If necessary, repeat the adjustment procedure until
the pattern is correct.
If the brooms are heavily worn, they must be
replaced. Remove the side broom by squeezing the
two tabs together as shown in figure 3. To
reassemble the new broom, firmly press it on to the
hub.
Note: when the broom(s) are replaced check that
the height adjusting devices are reset to their
original position, (corresponding to a new broom).
