9. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Before inspecting, cleaning, or servicing the machine, disconnect the plug from power supply and
wait for all moving parts to stop.

Maintenance and cleaning:
A. Before performing any cleaning or maintenance, unplug the tool from the power supply;
B. After use, clean the tool with a damp cloth (do not pour water on the tool) and store it in a clean, dry place
protected from moisture and dust. Keep your tool out of reach of children and people unfamiliar with the use of
the equipment.

Cares with the blade:
A. For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the hedge trimmer blade before and after each use, follow
the instructions below:
1.
Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply.
2.
Lay the hedge trimmer on a fl at surface. Apply oil along the edge of the top blade (Figure 9.1). If you will be
using the hedge trimmer for an extended period, it is advisable to oil the blade during use.
NOTE: Do not oil while the hedge trimmer is running.
B. If blades wear out or get damaged, take your hedge trimmer to the nearest SCHULZ AUTHORIZED DEALER
for maintenance.
Transporting and storing:
A. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool or allow its contact with edges, sharp
elements, rough surfaces, oil or chemicals that may damage its fl exible and insulating properties.
B. Always place the blade cover on the blade before storing or transporting the hedge trimmer, to avoid the sharp
teeth of the blade.
