9. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Before inspecting, cleaning, or servicing the machine, disconnect the plug from power supply and
wait for all moving parts to stop.
ATTENTION
recommendations below:
1. Maintenance and cleaning:
A. Clean the product immediately after each use.
B. To clean the product, use only mild soap and a damp cloth. Remove residual grass from the product, from the
air vents and from the cutter head, using a soft brush or wooden stick (do not use any sharp implement).

D. Never let any liquid get inside the tool and never immerse any part of the tool into liquid.
E. Consumable parts such as nylon spool and cutting blade are found in SCHULZ AUTHORIZED DEALER for
replacement.
F. Check weekly:
• The power cable for damage and look for worn or damaged parts. If required to perform any repair, contact
the nearest Schulz Authorized Dealer.
• Clean out the grass between the spool and the rim of the guard.
• If the bevel gear is fi lled with grease. Ask a Schulz Authorized Dealer to check the quantity and fi ll up using
proper grease, if necessary.
• If the equipment shows any signs of fuel leakage (model RGG 25)

a hazard or cause product damage.
2. Cares with the cutter heads and protections:
Wear safety gloves when working on either cutting head. Use appropriate tools to remove
debris. Never remove with your hands.
A. Keep the cutting heads and the cutting guards clean and free of debris. Remove grass trimmings.
B. Keep the cutter blade sharp to retain a good cutting performance. Replace worn or damaged cutter blades.
C. If the line is used up the spool must either be replaced by one of the same type or the nylon line must be
refi lled. Follow the instructions bellow:
• Lay the product on a fl at stable surface with its nylon spool facing upwards.
• Rotate the backing fl ange until one of the notches is aligned with the hole in the cutter head. IInsert the
spindle lock rod into the hole to lock the spindle.
• Open nylon spool I by turning the bumper J clockwise as illustrated in Figure 9.1 (models RGG 25 / RGE 1000
/ AGE 250) or by pressing the latches on the spool`s sides (models AGE 250 and AGE 500).
• To replace the spool, simply remove it and put a new one of the same type. (Figure 9.2).
• To replace the line, remove the spool and remove the line's debris. Cut a new trimmer line to 6m in length
and a diameter of up to 2mm. Make a loop in the middle of the line and insert this line into the spool's hook
(Figure 9.3).
