5. Connect the dual laser source and optical power meter to opposite
ends of the link under test. Use suitable reference cables to connect the
instruments to the patch panel. See figure below.
6. Set the dual laser source to 1310 nm and the optical power meter to
1310 nm. Record the dB reading on the optical power meter. This is the
link loss at 1310 nm.
7. Now set the dual laser source and optical power meter to 1550 nm.
Record the dB reading on the optical power meter. This is the link loss
at 1550 nm.
8. Go to the next fiber and repeat from Step 1.
