used as indicators of e.g. the dust bag being filled or the machine requiring maintenance,
or as enabling use and installation contrary to the instructions.
Bypass valve
The C.Compact central unit has a mechanical bypass valve, which makes a hissing
sound when e.g. the nozzle gets stuck to the floor. The valve will close and the hissing
sound stop when the situation is back to normal.
Overload protector
The overload protector in the C.Compact unit stops the machine in the event of
electrical overload or damage. The overload protector cannot be reversed, and it should
be replaced in an authorised Aldes maintenance company. When changing the overload
protector, the reason for its tripping, as well as any other faults, must be established
and resolved.
Overheating protector
The overheating protector stops the device if the temperature of the motor or turbine
is too high. Wait for the motor to cool down and the overheat protector to be reversed.
This should take approximately 60-90 minutes. Investigate the cause of the malfunction.
The causes may include a full dust bag or a blockage in the exhaust air filter, suction
hose, or piping. Correct the cause. The overheat protector will reset automatically.
LEAKAGE TEST FOR THE PIPING
Leakage test for the piping
Close all wall inlets. Start the central unit on the low-voltage terminal with a wire. Close
the bypass valve with a strip of cardboard. If air comes out from the exhaust port after
approximately 10 seconds of use, there is a leak in the piping. Locate and repair the
leakage. Do not use the machine for more than 20 seconds with all wall inlets closed,
because when the turbine receives no air, it will overheat and may be damaged.
