CHAPTER 2
LIMITATIONS
Series CM - CB electropumps are suitable to pump clean and slightly cloudy water, without abrasive materials.
The efficiency of a pump with a trimmed impeller is usually lower than that of a pump with the full impeller diameter. The trimming of
the impeller will adapt the pump to a fixed duty point, leading to reduced energy consumption. The minimum efficiency index (MEI) is
based on the full impeller diameter. information on benchmark efficiency is available at
www.europump.org/efficiencycharts
WARNING
The electropump cannot be used to move inflammable or dangerous liquids.
WARNING
Verify that the electropump never runs without liquids.
•
Max. Temperature of pumped liquid 90°
C (50° C for model cm 90/22)
•
Maximum/minimum ambient
temperature 40°/ 5° C*
*below 5° C, drain the electropump to prevent failures or damages caused by frost.
CHAPTER 3
INSTALLATION (SEE PICTURE 1 - PAGE 73)
DANGER - ELECTRIC SHOCK RISK
When installing, please ensure electropump is disconnected from electrical supply.
WARNING
Protect the electropump and all pipes from bad weather or freezing conditions.
•
CM - CB series electropumps are not
self-priming. It is advisable to install it
under the level of the water
•
If the electropump is to be installed
above the water level then a suction
pipe (2) should be used with a diameter
equal to that of the suction duct for
electropump (1)
•
If the height (HA) is over 4 meters use a
tube with a larger diameter
•
The suction line should be perfectly
airtight. No elbows and/or slopes
should be present to prevent the
formation of air locks that could affect
the electropump efficiency
6
•
Max.On/off cycles/hour 40 equally
spaced
•
Maximum suction height
(recommended) 5 m
(with standing valve)
•
A standing valve (3) with filter (4)
should be fitted at about half a metre
below the fluid that has to be pumped
(HI) on one end of the line
•
Load losses can be reduced using
delivery piping with a diameter
equivalent or greater than the
electropump mouth(5)
•
It is advisable to install a check
valve (6) directly on the delivery line
to prevent the electropump being
damaged by "water hammer"
•
A cut-off valve (7) should also be
installed downstream from the check
valve, to facilitate servicing operations
•
Maximum operating pressure
6 bar (mod. 0,5-0,75 HP)
8 bar (for remaining models)
•
Piping should be fitted so that
vibrations, when existing, tension and
weight do not affect the pump
•
Piping should be routed along the
shortest and straighter track, avoiding
an excessive number of bends
•
Verify that the motor is appropriately
vented
