1. INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing a DAS. product. The Factor and
Dynamics (DS) series represent more than thirty years of
expertise in transducer and enclosure design, achieving a
series of systems that utilise the most advanced sound
reinforcement technology to deliver outstanding audio
performance and maximum reliability.
For those systems that require enclosures featuring different
configurations or smaller size, Factor and DS series may be
combined with other series from DAS. For instance, a main
system based around Factor or DS could use DAS Ceiling
Series for ceiling speakers. Likewise, DS and Factor series
maybe used as distributed delays or fills for larger touring
boxes made by DAS.
This manual contains the required information to make the
best use of the system you have purchased. Please take the
time to read it.
This manual covers standard black (Factor) and DS
(anthracite) coloured models as well as white versions (suffix
"W") if applicable.
Our Web site at www.dasaudio.com contains further support
information such as enclosure and system drawings, data for
modelling software, architectural specifications and
specification sheets.
Series' features
In the 80's, DAS pioneered the use of plastic materials for
acoustic enclosures with the legendary Biflex series. Today,
Factor and Dynamics series pay tribute to that quest for
innovation and utilise state of the art design and
manufacturing to provide high density polypropylene
enclosures that combine exceptional sonic integrity, reliability
and resistance to the elements. Additionally, the use of
moulded materials makes it possible to achieve complex
shapes that provide great flexibility of use, contemporary
design and value for money.
Factor series is oriented towards fixed installations where a
"hi-fi" type sound is sought after, whereas DS series is meant
for fixed or portable applications where musical presence is
desired and music is the dominating factor.
Perforated polyamide powder coated grilles are used for
durability and resistance to corrosion.
Optional mounting hardware is available for simple and safe
installation (except subwoofer models).
