1 Information about the operating instructions
These operating instructions apply for the MK7P application tools only. Please read these operating
instructions carefully and ensure that they are understood by any person using the application
tool.
Within this operating instructions you will find images illustrating best practice guidelines for
operating and maintaining the application tool, along with contact details for your local
HellermannTyton country representative.
2 Intended use
The MK7P tool is intended for the application of both inside-serrated and outside-serrated nylon
cable ties. The tool is not suitable for use with alternative cable ties (e.g. metal) and must also not
be modified or interfered with by any user. The MK7P application tool is operated pneumatically
(compressed air lubricated/unlubricated).
We are not liable for any damage and claims arising from the improper operation or use of the
cable tie installation tool, nor are we responsible for any damages caused by defects resulting from
inappropriate or unsuitable use of the tool, incorrect or careless treatment, normal wear and tear
as well as any modifications made to the tool by the customer of a third party.
The warranty/repair by HellermannTyton does not include the rectification of faults that result from
force majeure, external influences, customer neglect (e.g., modifications or attachments,
application errors etc.) or the influence of third parties. The replacement of worn parts or spare
parts during or after maintenance work carried out according to HellermannTyton instructions is
also not included.
The application tool must only be operated when in a technically sound condition.
3 Representation and layout of warning instructions
The hazard level with the associated warning symbol and explanation are illustrated below:
WARNING
Possible risk of lethal or serious injuries.
CAUTION
Possible slight injuries.
NOTE
Texts with this symbol indicate situations that can lead to damage to the tool if not observed.
4 Initial operation
The application tool must be connected to a pneumatic hose and can then be used immediately.
f Take the application tool out of the packaging and check it for damage. If damaged, inform the
supplier in writing immediately.
f Connect the application tool to a pneumatic hose with an inner diameter of 4 mm. Secure the
connection against accidental loosening.
f Set the air pressure to max. 6 bar.
f Actuate the trigger and check that the carrier moves all the way to the end position.
f Set the desired tension force on the adjustment unit.
