The following boiler troubleshooting guide gives the main faults or failures that may occur, with possible causes and cures.
FAULT
THE GENERATOR GETS DIRTY EASILY
CAUSE:
Burner incorrectly adjusted
Flue obstructed
Dirty burner air path
THE GENERATOR DOES NOT HEAT
CAUSE:
Dirty generator body
Burner/generator combination
Insufficient burner capacity
Control thermostat
THE GENERATOR GOES INTO THERMAL SAFETY SHUTDOWN STATUS WITH CONTROL PANEL WARNING LIGHT ON
CAUSE:
Control thermostat
Lack of water
Presence of air
THE GENERATOR IS WORKING BUT THE HEATING SYSTEM IS COLD
CAUSE:
Air in the system
Circulating pump fault
Minimum thermostat (if present)
