WARNING: The pole pruner, if properly
used, is a quick, confortable and effi cient
tool. So that your work is always pleasant
and safe, please respect the following
safety precautions scru pu lous ly.
WARNING! - National laws could limit use
of the pole pruner.
1 -
Never use the pole pruner when you are tired
or fatigued or if you have taken alcohol, drugs
or medication (Fig. 1).
2 -
Wear appropriate clothing and safety articles
such as: boots having skid-proof sole,
heavy-duty trousers, gloves, protective
eyewear, ear protection and pro tec tive helmet
(look pag. 10-11). Use clothing which is close-
fi tting but comfortable.

Do not allow children to use the pole
pruner.
4 -
Do not allow other people to remain within 15
metres during pole pruner use (Fig. 2).

Verify chain tensioning before using the pole
pruner.

The pole pruner must be equipped with the
cutting accessories recommended by the
manufacturer.

Cut small sized branches. Pay attention to

falling pieces and those that can bounce
anomalously on the ground (Fig. 3).

Before starting the engine, make sure that
the throttle lever works freely.
9 -
Before starting the engine, make sure that the
chain is free to move and is not in contact
with any foreign objects.

compulsory.

With the engine idling, the chain should not
turn. If it does, regulate the idle adjustment
screw.

Carry the pole pruner with the engine off and
with the protective blade cover on (Fig. 4).

Only work when you are in a stable and
secure position (Fig. 5). Maintain a correct
working position. Do not remain in a same
position for long periods; often change
working position.

Start the pole pruner only in well-ventilated
areas.

Never touch the chain or attempt any
maintenance work while the engine is
running.

Do not use fuel mixture for cleaning
operations.

Always keep the handles clean of oil and
fuel (Fig.6).

Store the pole pruner in a dry place, away
from heat sources, and off the ground.

In order to avoid hitting stones or other
objects, do not cut too close to the ground.

Non-correct maintenance and removal of
safety devices could cause serious injuries.

Do not attempt to carry out operations
or repairs that are not part of the normal
maintenance. See the authorised dealer.

Always switch off the engine of the pruner
when preparing the work area.
23 -
Do not use ladders or stand precariously,
and keep the work area clean and tidy to
allow a swift exit if necessary. Never climb
into trees with the pruner; if extra height is
needed, a hydraulically operated overhead
access platform must be used.
When the machine is running, grip the front
handle fi rmly with your left hand and the
Power Unit handle with your right hand
(Fig. 6). Check that all parts of the body
are kept away from the muffl er.
