Cleaning and maintenance
Before cleaning, unplug the mains plug.
Never submerge the appliance in water.
Never allow the appliance to stand for a long time without a water tank (11).
Only use a damp cloth to wipe the appliance from the outside. Do not use any
sharp or abrasive cleaning agents, as they would damage the surface.
Empty the drip tray (2) at regular intervals to prevent liquid from overflowing.
Except for the water tank (11), all removable parts (grate insert (1), drip tray (2),
spout (6), sieve insert (7), pad cartridge (9)) can be put in the dishwasher.
Clean the water tank (11) in warm rinse water and rinse with clean water.
Pad cartridge
At regular intervals, check that the central opening of the pad cartridge (9) is
free. It may be blocked by cellulose fibres from kitchen towels.
Spout with sieve insert
The quality of the crema will diminish considerably even when there are only
minor deposits in the sieve insert (7). This may apply after just 100 cups due to
lime deposits from very hard tap water. For this reason, clean the sieve insert (7)
regularly. The superposed sieves may not be pressed against each other.
1. Pull the spout downward and remove the sieve insert (7).
2. Remove the coffee residues in rinsing water with a soft brush or place them in
the dishwasher.
3. If limescale deposits are still present in the sieve insert (7), place this in the
descaling solution. Afterwards, rinse the sieve insert (7) once again.
4. After cleaning, return the sieve insert (7) back in the spout (6).
5. Reinsert the spout (6) and press it until it snaps into place.
