5. Before starting the equipment

The lawn mower is delivered partly assembled.
The push bar and the grass basket must be as-
sembled before using the lawn mower. Follow the
instructions step by step and refer to the pictures
when assembling.
Fitting the push bar (Fig. 3 – 3d)
Swing the push bar holder (3) to the rear and lock
it on both sides with the quick-lock levers (12).
This might require you to slacken the quick-lock
lever (by turning it counter-clockwise) or tighten it
(by turning clockwise). Make sure that the height
is uniform. On the push bar holder (3) are two
mounting holes on each side for adjusting the
push bar height. The push bar (2) must be pushed
onto the push bar holder (3) and secured in one
of the two holes as shown. The rounded side of
the washer (13) points inwards at the pipe. First
secure one side so that the push bar stays in
place and then secure the other side.
Adjusting the push bar height (Fig. 5)
You can set the push bar to a height from 105 cm
to 129 cm in 3 levels (1 – 2 – 3) depending on the
mounting hole used. The selected level is indica-
ted by the notch (A). To set the push bar height,
secure the quick-lock lever (12) in the required
position.
Fitting the grass basket (Fig. 6)
Before you fi t the grass basket you must ensure
that the motor is switched off and the blade is not
rotating. Lift the ejector fl ap (5) with one hand.
Using the other hand, hold the basket (4) by the
handle and hang it into place from the top.
Fitting the cable clips (Fig. 4)
Then use the cable clips (8) to secure the motor
cable to the push bar (2) and the push bar holder
(3).
Filling level indicator of the grass collector
(Fig. 4)
The grass collector is equipped with a fi lling level
indicator (Item 16) which is opened by the air cur-
rent that the lawn mower generates during ope-
ration. If the fl ap closes during mowing, the grass
collecting device is full and must be emptied. To
ensure the proper functioning of the fi lling level
indicator, the holes under the fl ap must be kept
clean and open.

Adjusting the cutting height
Warning!
Adjust the cutting height only when the engine is
switched off and the power cable has been dis-
connected.
Before you begin to mow, check to ensure that the
blade is not blunt and that none of the fasteners
are damaged. To prevent any imbalance, replace
blunt and/or damaged blades. To carry out this
check, fi rst switch off the motor and pull out the
power plug.
The cutting height must be adjusted as follows
(see Fig. 7):
1. Press the lever (6) inwards and adjust to the
required cutting height (scale: 25 – 35 - 45 –
55 – 65 - 75 mm).
2. Release the lever (6) and check that it is se-
curely seated in the lock.
Charging the battery (Fig. 8)
The supplied battery pack is allowed to be char-
ged only in the supplied charging unit. The battery
pack must be charged before the equipment is
used for the fi rst time.
1. Check to see if the voltage specifi ed on the
rating plate of the charging unit matches the
mains voltage. Insert the power plug of the
charging unit (11) into the mains socket out-
let. The red LED (B) will light up.
2. Push the battery pack (12) onto the charging
unit (11) until it latches in place. The red LED
(B) will go out and the green LED (C) will
blink.
3. Once the battery pack is full charged, the
green LED (C) will shine continuously.
4. If a fault occurs on the charging unit (e.g.
charging is impossible due to a defective
battery pack), the red LED (B) will shine con-
tinuously.
The battery pack can become a little warm during
the charging. This is normal.
After the battery pack has been charged, it must
be removed from the charging unit. Do this by
pressing the two pushlock buttons (D) on the side
and pulling the battery pack out of the charging
unit.
