Mounting the Saw Blade
If required, clean all parts to be mounted prior to assembly.
– Place the new saw blade onto the interior clamping flange
41.
Take care during the mounting that the cutting direc-
tion of the teeth (direction of the arrow on the saw
blade) agrees with the direction of the arrow on the re-
tracting blade guard!
– Mount the clamping flange 40 and hexagon bolt 39.
Press spindle lock 38 until it engages and tighten the hex-
agon bolt with a tightening torque of approx. 15–23 Nm
turning in anticlockwise direction.
– Push the retracting blade guard 4 down toward the front
until Phillips screw 37 engages in the corresponding re-
cess.
For this, it is possible that you must counter-hold the tool
arm by the handle, to achieve the pre-tension of the re-
tracting blade guard.
– Fasten the retracting blade guard 4 again (tighten screw
37).
– Slowly guide the retracting blade guard downward until the
bolt of lever 3 can be heard to engage behind the retracting
blade guard.
Operation
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Transport Safety (see figure E)
The transport safety-lock 25 enables easier handling of the
machine when transporting to various working locations.
Releasing the Machine (Working Position)
– Push the tool arm by the handle 1 down a little in order to
relieve the transport safety-lock 25.
– Pull the transport safety-lock 25 completely outward.
– Guide the tool arm slowly upward.
Securing the Machine (Transport Position)
– Press lever 3 and at the same time, swing the tool arm by
handle 1 toward the rear until the transport safety-lock 25
can be pushed completely inward.
The tool arm is now securely locked for transport.

Preparing for Operation

Extending the Saw Table (see figure F)
Long workpieces must be underlaid or supported at their free
end.
– Loosen both Allen screws 42 with the Allen key 21 provid-
ed.
– Pull out the saw table extension 20 to the stop and tighten
the Allen screws again.
Mounting the Extension Bars (see figure G)
To extend the saw table additionally, extension bars can be
mounted both to the left or right of the power tool.
Bosch Power Tools
– Insert the extension bars 43 on both sides of the power
tool to the stop in the drill holes 19 intended for this pur-
pose.
– Tighten the screws for securing the extension bars.
Extending the Fence (see figure H)
For bevel angles, the fence extension 22 must be moved.
– Open clamping lever 30 and completely pull out the fence
extension 22.
– Tighten the clamping lever again.
Clamping the Workpiece (see figure I)
To ensure optimum working safety, the workpiece must al-
ways be firmly clamped.
Do not saw workpieces that are too small to clamp.
While clamping the workpiece, do not reach under the
clamping lever of the quick-action clamp with your fin-
gers.
– Press the workpiece firmly against the fence 6.
– Insert the quick-action clamp 7 into one of the holes 17 in-
tended for this purpose.
– Adapt the quick-action clamp to the workpiece by turning
the threaded rod 46.
– Push on the clamping lever 45 in order to clamp the work-
piece.

Adjusting the Cutting Angle

To ensure precise cuts, the basic adjustment of the machine
must be checked and adjusted as necessary after intensive
use (see "Checking and Adjusting the Basic Adjustment",
page 28).
Always tighten the locking knob 12 firmly before saw-
ing. Otherwise the saw blade can become wedged in the
workpiece.
Adjusting Standard Mitre Angles (see figure J)
For quick and precise adjustment of commonly used mitre an-
gles, detents 14 have been provided for on the saw table:
Left
45°
31,6°
22,5° 15°
15°
– Loosen the locking knob 12 in case it is tightened.
– Pull lever 13 and rotate the saw table 15 left or right to the
requested detent.
– Release the lever again. The lever must be felt to engage in
the detent.
Adjusting Any Mitre Angle (see figure K)
The mitre angle can be set in the range from 52° (left side) to
52° (right side).
– Loosen the locking knob 12 in case it is tightened.
– Pull lever 13 and at the same time push the locking bracket
11 until it engages in the groove intended for this. The saw
table can be moved freely now.
– Turn the saw table 15 left or right by the locking knob and
adjust the requested mitre angle with help of the fine scale
10. (also see "Adjusting with Help of the Fine Scale",
page 26)
– Tighten the locking knob 12 again.
