Authorised use
The HKS 52 and the HKS 62 circular saws have
been designed for professional sawing of wood
and plastic.
The machine must NEVER be used in wet condi-
tions or in presence of fl ammable liquids or gases!
These circular saws are professional power tools.
You must NEVER let children near the power tools!
Supervision is always required whenever inexperi-
enced operators have to use this power tool.
Assembling and setting up
WARNING! To reduce the risk of injury,
turn unit off and disconnect machine
from power source before fi tting or re-
moving accessories, before changing or
re-adjusting the set up or before making
repairs. You must ensure that the trigger
switch is in the OFF position. An accidental
start-up can cause injuries.
Cutting depth adjustment (Figs. A, B)
1. Undo the depth adjustment knob (17).
2. Move the shoe (6) to set the correct cutting
depth.
3. Retighten the depth adjustment knob (17).
WARNING! For optimum results, allow the
saw blade to protrude from the workpiece
by about 5 mm (Fig. B).
Bevel adjustment (Figs. A, C)
The bevel angle can be set between 0° and the
maximum possible setting.
1. Undo the bevel adjustment knob (11).
2. Set the bevel angle by tilting the saw shoe (6)
until the required angle is indicated by the mark
on the scale.
3. Retighten the bevel adjustment knob (11).
Shoe adjustment for 90° cuts (Fig. A)
1. Set the saw to a 0° bevel.
2. Retract the blade guard using the lever (8) and
place the saw on the blade side.
3. Undo the bevel adjustment knob (11).
4. Place a set-square against the blade and shoe
to set up the 90° setting.
5. Retighten the bevel adjustment knob (11).
Replacing the saw blade (Figs. A, D)
1. Press the saw blade locking button (4). Use the
wrench supplied in the package to turn the saw
blade clamping screw (19) counter-clockwise.
2. Use the lever (8) to retract the lower blade guard
(9) and then replace the blade (10). Refi t the
washers (20, 21) in the correct positions.
3. Check the blade rotational direction.
4. Tighten up the blade clamping screw (19)
manually to hold the washer in position. Turn it
clockwise to tighten it.
5. Press the blade locking button (4) whilst turning
the spindle until the blade stops rotating.
6. Use the wrench to retighten the blade clamping
screw.
Adjusting the riving knife (Fig. D)
Readjust the riving knife gap after changing the saw
blade or whenever necessary.
1. Adjust the cutting depth to 0 mm to access the
riving knife clamping screws (22).
2. Loosen the screws (22) and pull the riving knife
out to its maximum length.
3. Set the gap and then retighten the screws.
Fitting and adjusting the parallel
fence (HKS 62, Fig. E)
The parallel fence (18) is used for cutting parallel to
the edge of the workpiece.
FITTING
1. Slacken the fence adjustment knob (l2) so that
you can to fi t the parallel fence.
2. Insert the parallel fence (18) in the saw shoe (6)
as shown.
3. Retighten the fence adjustment knob (12).
ADJUSTING
1. Slacken the fence adjustment knob (12) and set
the parallel fence (18) to the required width. The
adjustment can be read on the scale (23).
2. Retighten the fence adjustment knob (12).
