- Switch off the grinder after use.
Cutting
CAUTION: Use the safety abrasive cutting wheel guard (19, not supplied).
- When you use the angle grinder for cutting purposes, avoid tilting it in the cutting plane.
- The cutting wheel must have a clean cutting edge.
- Do not "jam" the wheel or apply excessive pressure.
- Do not attempt to make an excessive depth of cut. Overstressing the wheel increases the loading and
susceptibility to twisting or binding of the wheel in the cut and the possibility of kickback, wheel breakage and
overheating of the motor may occur.
- Do not start the cutting operation in the workpiece. Let the wheel reach full speed and carefully enter into the cut
moving the tool forward over the workpiece surface.
- During cutting operations, never change the angle of the wheel. Placing side pressure on the cut-off wheel (as in
grinding) will cause the wheel to crack and break, causing serious personal injury.
CAUTION:
Never use a cutting wheel for rough grinding!
CAUTION:
To prevent accidents, make sure to turn the switch off and disconnect to the plug from the power receptacle.
Inspecting the machine
- Keep the machine clean.
- All plastic parts should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. NEVER use solvents to clean plastic parts. They could
possibly dissolve or damage the material.
Inspecting the mounting screws
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be
loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do so could result in serious hazard.
Maintenance of the motor
The motor unit winding is the very "heart" of the power tool. Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not
become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.
- For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean.
- Periodically blow out all air passages with dry compressed air.
Inspecting the carbon brushes (Fig 15)
The Motor employs carbon brushes which are consumable parts. When they become worn to or near the "wear
limit", it could result in motor trouble. The power tool must then be sent to an after-sales service agent.
When you have to replacement the carbon brushes by yourself, please following the order:
- Untight the screws ST4.2x16 (17) and remove the brush covers (6) on both sides of the motor housing.
- Remove the carbon brushes.
- After replacing the carbon brushes, reinstall and screw the two brush covers (6).
CAUTION:
Repair, modification and inspection must be must be carried out by a LEMAN Authorized Service Center.
In the operation and maintenance of power tools, the safety regulations and standards prescribed in each country
must be observed.
Do not dispose of electric tools together with household waste material!
In observance of European Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its
implementation in accordance with national law, electric tools that have reached the end of their life
must be collected separately and returned to an environmentally compatible recycling facility.
