Function
Immediate shutdown
Avoids accidental access to the front side of the blade with
the thumb/
fingers.
Forces the use with small pieces of cutting materials,
e.g. leftover pieces, and thus avoids
injuries to the fingers of the hand
The slide can only be tilted if the
stop plate has been fully closed (below-zero-position) and
the blade edge is thus covered.
Prevents accidental access to the edge of the blade
No automatic start of the machine following an
interruption of power supply, e.g. "power failure".
