Professional CD Player. This state of the art profession-
al CD player is backed by a three year warranty, exclud-
ing lasers. One year warranty on CD lasers. Prior to use,
we suggest that you carefully read all the instructions.

CAUTIONS:
1. Do not use this CD Player at temperatures below
41°F/5°C or higher than 95°F/35°C.
2. The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or
splashing and no objects filled with liquids such as vases
should be placed on the apparatus. Place the unit in a
clean and dry location.
3. Do not place the unit in an unstable location.
4. When disconnecting the power cord from an AC outlet,
always grasp it by the plug. Never pull the power cord.
5. To prevent electric shock, do not remove the cover or the
bottom screws.
6. THERE ARE NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS
INSIDE. Please refer servicing to a qualified technician.
7. Do not use chemical solvents to clean the unit.
8. Keep the laser pickup clean by keeping the drawer
closed.
9. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
When using CD-R formatted music, be advised not to
record at more than 8x speed.
LINE VOLTAGE SELECTION:
Model CDX-01 is a dual voltage unit. It will operate at
115 or 230 volts. To set the proper voltage, follow these
steps:
1. Place the head of a screwdriver in the center of the
VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH (1) found on the rear
panel.
2. Slide the switch to 115 or 230 volts.
3. Do not force or twist the switch. Excessive force may
cause damage. If the switch does not move smoothly,
contact a qualified technician.
CONNECTIONS:
1. Connect the power plug into the AC IN (2).
2. Plug one end of a set of the included RCA cable connec-
tors into each of the LINE OUTPUT JACKS (3).
3. Plug the other end of the RCA connectors into any avail-
able line level input jacks on your mixer. If you are con-
necting the CDX-01 through a receiver, you can plug the
RCA connectors into the CD or AUX INPUT JACKS on
your receiver. If there are no CD or AUX INPUTS, use
any line level (not phono) inputs.
4. You may also connect a line level audio output from anoth-
er source into the 1/8" LN IN (7) located on the front panel
of the CDX-01.
5. Located on the rear panel is a RCA DIGITAL OUTPUT
(4) used to connect your CD player to a digital recorder.
FUNCTION DESCRIPTIONS:
1. POWER: After making sure that the VOLTAGE SELEC-
TOR (1) switch, found on the rear panel, is properly set,
plug the unit in and press the POWER (5) button. The unit
will turn ON. Pushing the POWER button (5) a second
time will turn the unit OFF.
2. DISC TRAY: The DISC TRAY (6) is where the CD is held
during loading, unloading and playback. Pressing the
OPEN/CLOSE (9) button, will open or close the tray. The
DISC TRAY (6) holds both 12 cm and 8 cm CDs. Please
note, if the CDX-01 is in play mode, the tray will not open.
NOTE: DO NOT FORCE THE DISC TRAY TO CLOSE, EXCESSIVE
FORCE WILL DAMAGE THE CD MECHANISM, USE THE
OPEN/CLOSE (9) BUTTONS ONLY.

OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON: Press OPEN/CLOSE (9) to
load or remove a CD from the DISC TRAY.
4. L.C.D.: The LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY (10) shows the
track number, pitch value, single-auto cue, continue (for
continuous play), and 4 different time displays. These
time displays are time elapsed on the track, time
remaining on the disc, the last 30 second outro of the
track, and time remaining on the track. Time is meas-
ured in minutes, seconds and frames.
5. PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR: The PLAYBACK DISPLAY
BAR (11) displays the elapsed and remaining time for
each track. The display flashes slowly when the track has
30 seconds remaining and pulses rapidly when playing
time is down to 15 seconds.
6. PLAY/PAUSE: Each press of the PLAY/PAUSE BUT-
TON (21) causes the operation to change from play to
pause or from pause back to play.
7. CUE: With the unit in the PLAY mode (PLAY/PAUSE
LED is green) and after the cue point has been pro-
grammed, pressing CUE (22) will immediately pause the
track at the programmed CUE point (the CUE LED glows
blue). In PAUSE mode (PLAY/PAUSE LED blinks), hold-
ing down CUE (22) changes the function to preview and
starts the CD from the programmed cue point. Releasing
the CUE (22) button will return the CD laser to the preset
cue point in PAUSE mode.
8. BPM: Tapping the BPM (19) button allows you to count
the beats per minute on a track. Holding the BPM (19)
switches display modes from BPM to PITCH, which is
indicated on the right side of the LCD (10).

TRACK SKIP/+10: The TRACK SKIP (12) buttons
lets you select the track to play. Push the +10 (12) button
and you will advance through the CD track listing in mul-
tiples of ten.
10. SEARCH JOG WHEEL: Use the SEARCH JOG
WHEEL (8) to select the scanning direction and speed of
