Matching
Machines:
With all machines the BM Digital series and for all pro-
grams.
Reason:
Wheels with large unbalance weights (larger than 60g in
either plane) should be matched.
This large unbalance can be caused by the unbalance
of the rim and unbalance of the tyre combining toge-
ther at the same angle causing the wheel to become
top heavy.
Matching optimizes the rim to the tyre in the best com-
bination to reduce the large unbalance.
Routine:
The result of a normal balance run is seen to be too high
on any plane. The LED 20 illuminates and signals that
there is too much static unbalance.
Step 1:
Press the key 14 „matching"
The LED 21 illuminates to show that the matching pro-
gram is active.
The tyre is taken off the balance machine and the tyre
is dismounted completely from the rim.
Step 2:
The rim is then replaced without the tyre onto the ma-
chine with the valve at the 12 o´clock position.
The start key is pressed and the unbalance of the rim is
calculated.
At the end of the balance run the display shows the fol-
lowing:
Step 3:
Mount the tyre to the rim in any position, re-in ate to the
correct pressure and secure using the clamping means.
Rotate the wheel until the valve is at the 12 o´clock po-
sition.
Start the balance run by pressing the start key.
Step 4:
The machine calculates the unbalance of the tyre wit-
hout taking into account the unbalance of the rim.
At the end of the balance run the original unbalance
value is shown on the display but the Positional LEDs
show the positions where a marking should be made on
the outside of the tyre at the 12 o´clock position.

Step 5:
Dismount the wheel and de-in ate the tyre. Turn the tyre
on the rim using a tyre changing machine until the pre-
vious marking is directly in line with the valve. The mat-
ching is now complete. Re-in ate the tyre and mount
the wheel back onto the balance machine. Balance
the wheel as normal and x the weights onto the wheel
as requested to correct any remaining unbalance.
