Troubleshooting
c. Ensure for correct belt guidance in the connector to
prevent the belt from slipping (Figure E).
Fold the body harness such that the arrow points
towards the body.
d. Close the body harness (Figure F).
e. Place the belt unit onto the hip. The LED must be visible
from above.
f. Pull the protective cap off the filter (Figure G1).
g. Pull the protective cap off the hose connection and
screw the hose into the fitting of the mask (Figure G2).
If using a half mask:
a. Attach the carrier strap to the hose and place around
the neck (Figure G3).
Adjust the carrier strap in such a way that there is no
tensile force on the mask and the freedom of movement
of the head is not restricted.
3. Switch on the purifying respirator using the flip switch
(Figure H1).
For the duration of approx. 3 seconds the LED illuminates
and a whistling sound is emitted (Figure H2).
NOTICE
i
i
If the fan switches off or fails during use, the respiratory
protection for the wearer remains intact. However, the
limitations of use for filter equipment without fan
support will then apply.
4. Observe warning signals during use (see Chapter 4 on
Page 12):
The purifying respirator emits both optical (Figure J1) and
acoustic (Figure J2) warning signals.
NOTICE
i
i
There is only a warning signal for malfunctions or if the
resistance of the filter becomes too high.
There is no warning signal for gases or vapours getting
through.

Taking off the purifying respirator
WARNING
!
In the case of contamination with hazardous particles
and/or fibres, decontaminate the purifying respirator
before taking it off!
1. Decontaminate the purifying respirator:
a. Place the shower cap onto the filter (Figure K1).
The opening of the shower cap points downwards.
A warning signal may sound. However, this is of no
consequence.
b. Decontaminate the purifying respirator.
c. Remove the shower cap.
d. Place the protective cap onto the filter or seal the filter
with adhesive tape.
2. Unscrew the hose from the mask fitting and remove the
1)
mask
.
3. Switch off the purifying respirator using the flip switch
(Figure K2).
1) Note the corresponding Instructions for Use.

4. Open the body harness and take off the belt unit. Do not
allow to drop!
5. Hang the purifying respirator on the body harness for
drying or set down with the respiratory filter facing
downwards.
3.5.2
Replacing the respiratory filter
1. Turn the old respiratory filter anti-clockwise, remove
(Figure L) and dispose in accordance with the applicable
waste removal regulations. Further information is available
from the relevant environment and public authorities.
2. Check that the filter seal is clean and undamaged (no
holes, cracks, distortions and sticky points) – otherwise
replace (see Chapter 5.2.1 on Page 13).
3. Insert the new respiratory filter (see Chapter 3.3.1 on
Page 11).
