General safety instructions

Warning! Read all safety guidelines and in-
structions, which have been supplied with the
mounting device or the portable circular saw. Fail-
ure to observe the safety guidelines and instructions
may lead to electric shocks, fires and/or cause seri-
ous injuries.
Keep all safety guidelines and instructions in a safe
place for future reference.
The term "electric power tool" used in the safety
guidelines refers to all mains-powered electric power
tools (with mains cable) and battery-powered electric
power tools (without mains cable).
6
– Remove the plug from the socket and/or remove
the battery before adjusting the machine settings
or changing accessory parts. Some accidents are
caused by power tools starting accidentally.
– Secure the electric power tool safely on the
mounting device before using it.If the electric
power tool slips on the mounting device, you may
lose control of the machine.
– Place the mounting device on a solid, even and
horizontal surface. If the mounting device slides or
wobbles, it may not be possible to control the elec-
tric power tool safely and reliably.
– Check the function of the pendulum guard prior
to use and do not use the electric power tool if it
does not slide in and out easily.
– Always hold the machine with two hands at the
handles
when performing work. This reduces
the risk of injury and is a prerequisite for precise
work.
– Before every use, check the function of the
cross cutting guide rail and ensure that all
warning notices are legible and attached at the
cross cutting guide rail in as-delivered condi-
tion. If the warning notices are missing, non-
compliance with the guidelines can cause a high-
er risk of injury.
2.2

Residual risks

In spite of compliance with all relevant design reg-
ulations, hazzards while operating the machine still
occur e.g.:
– Touching the saw blade in the area of the front
opening below the saw table,
– Touching the parts of the saw blade that protrude
below the saw table while cutting,
– Touching rotating parts from left and right sides:
saw blade, clamping flange, flange screw.,
– Kickback of machine due to jamming in the
workpiece,
– Touching live parts when the casing is opened
and the mains plug is in the socket,
– the flying off of parts,
– the flying off of machine parts from a damaged
machine,
– noise emission,
– dust emission.
3

Intended use

The cross cutting guide rail's intended use is saw-
ing wood and panel materials.
