The arrow on the top of the runner shows the correct direction and
must always point upwards.
5.2) Functional check attached to the cable: A) Hold the runner
attached to the cable by the carabiner and pull up. When the carabiner
is pulled upwards vertically and slowly moved up and down, the
runner should follow the movements easily on the cable. Diagram 7 B)
If the carabiner is let go or pulled back down, the runner should lock
and clamp to the cable! Diagram 5
5.3) Cable guides:
5.3.1) Transferable cable guides: Cable guides can be transferred
from the runner without having to remove the runner from the cable
and without having to release the cable from the intermediate bracket.
To allow the runner to glide over the cable guide, ensure as far as
possible that the runner is not twisted. Diagram 3
5.3.2) Non-transferable cable guides: If cable guides are not
transferable, you will need to climb up to just before the cable guides
and pull the cable out of the guide. You can then climb over the guide
and introduce the cable back into the cable guide beneath the runner.

6.) Use of the climbing protection system
6.1) Observe the operating temperature range (-30°C to +45°C)
6.2) In extreme conditions which can include climatic con-ditions, the
effect of chemicals or mechanical influences, e.g. sharp edges, oil, ice
etc., use of the fall-arrest system is not recommended.
6.3) Carry out a visual check of the cable and ladder attachments
before/during climbing to ensure everything is complete and in perfect
condition.
6.4) Intermediate cable brackets must be firmly attached to the rungs
and must not bend the cable. When climbing up or down, the runner
must always be directed ("towed") under its attachment point on the
harness in order to keep the runner moving freely (towing mode
Diagram 7). Climb up or down slowly and evenly and bring the runner
with you. However, do not leave your hand on the shock absorber/
carabiner or runner! Runners must not be used as a working position.
Separate PPE systems (e.g. EN 358 and EN 354/355) should be used
for this purpose. Before removing the runner, ensure you have a
secure footing on a platform and, in areas where there is a risk of
falling, fall arrest lanyards (e.g. EN 354 / 355) attached to a suitable
anchor point. If several people are using the climbing protection
system, a maximum of 3 people can be attached to the system at the
same time and the minimum spacing must not exceed 5m. During the
