4. Set flow adjustment before making wiring connections (Diagram 2). Flow
adjustment and manual ON-OFF operation are set by two different controls.
A. Turn valve on by holding gray ring stationary. Turn solenoid (black
knob) counterclockwise 1/4 turn.
B. Now turn the gray ring counterclockwise (the solenoid should turn with
it) until the water flows at the desired rate.
C. Turn valve off by holding the gray ring stationary. Turn solenoid (black
knob) clockwise finger tight 1/4 turn. The black knob must remain in
this "OFF" position for automatic operation.
D. Flow adjustment is now set.
5. WIRE CONNECTIONS (Diagram 3) Use 18 gauge wire to connect the
wires to the timer. Wiring that is to be buried alongside the pipes should be
APPROVED for UNDERGROUND use and for all splices use water tight
connectors.
Each valve has two wires. Either one may serve as the HOT wire which
is connected directly to a station output terminal in the timer. The other wire
is "COMMON" and may be joined to the common wires of other valves with
one wire running to the common terminal of the timer. Check operation
using the timer control.
