Valve Slams On-Off
1. Excessive water pressure– install pressure regulator.
2. Worn piston assembly– replace with Piston Repair Kit (PRK-100).
3. Too many sprinkler heads on circuit.
Valve Leaks
1. Around adapter assembly– tighten adapter to body; be sure O-Ring seal
is in place.
2. Leaking at sprinkler heads– remove adapter and replace piston with
Piston Repair Kit (PRK-100).
3. Check solenoid to ensure fully tight (turn clockwise finger tight). Check
solenoid for debris by removing from assembly. Agitate vigorously in a mild
solution of vinegar and water. Reassemble solenoid to body using finger
tight pressure.
Sprinklers will not fully pop up, or throw far enough
1. Inadequate water pressure:
A. Water running elsewhere.
B. Too many sprinkler heads on circuit.
2. Flow control gray ring not fully open.
3. Pipe line blockage.
4. Master control valve not fully open.
REMOVING VALVE ADAPTER FROM VALVE BODY
In some cases, the Troubleshooting Guide suggests removal of the valve
adapter to inspect the condition of the seals. To prevent damage to the
adapter, follow these procedures:
DISASSEMBLY (See Diagram 4)
1. Shut off the water main or water shutoff valve.
2. Use a pair of adjustable pliers and unscrew the adapter by turning coun-
terclockwise.
3. Inspect the piston seals for signs of wear or damage which may be caus-
ing leakage.
