4. Allow the appliance to cool before you clean it.
Cleaning
WARNING:
• Disconnect from mains power supply before
cleaning.
• Do not submerge the appliance in water! This
may lead to electric shock or fire.
• Ensure that no liquid gets inside the appli-
ance!
CAUTION:
• Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive
utensils for cleaning.
• Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning
agents.
Removing grill plates
WARNING: Risk of burns!
Wait until the grill plates are completely cooled!
1. Push down on the correct release button
RELEASE (3 or 4).
2. Pull the grill plates a short way forward or
upward. Remove them from the appliance.
3. Clean the grill plates in a bowl of hot water
while adding a mild dishwashing liquid. If
necessary, use a nylon brush. Rinse with clean
water.
4. Dry the grill plates well.
5. If necessary, wipe the surfaces below the grill
plates with a damp cloth.
6. Let the surface dry completely before you re-
insert the grill plates.
Re-inserting the grill plates
You will find the following allocation on the bottom
of the grill plates:
UPPER PLATE
Upper plate
LOWER PLATE
Lower plate
1. Slide the recesses on the grill plates into the
mounting brackets on the appliance.
2. Press the RELEASE button with one hand,
and simultaneously press the respective grill
plate into the housing with the other hand.
3. Ensure that the grill plates are firmly in place.
Fat Collecting Tray
1. Remove the fat collecting tray from the appli-
ance. Dispose of the contents.
2. Clean the fat collecting tray in warm sudsy
water.
3. Re-attach the fat collecting tray to the contact
grill when it is dry.
Casing
Clean the casing after use with a slightly damp
cloth.
Storage
• Only store the appliance clean and after it has
cooled down.
• During longer periods of non-use we recom-
mend storing the appliance in its original
packaging.
• Always store the appliance in a well-ventilated
and dry place out of reach of children.
Troubleshooting
The appliance does not work
Possible cause:
The appliance is not connected to mains power.
Remedy:
• Check the wall outlet with a different appliance.
• Insert the plug properly in the wall outlet.
• Check the fuse.
Possible cause:
The appliance is defective.
Remedy:
• Contact our service or a repair center.
