Setting the Automatic-Shutoff Time and Backlighting
Timeout
By dragging on the bar in the "Power off" bar field, you can set the shutoff time
(in seconds) after which the unit is automatically turned off if it has not been
utilized.
By dragging on the bar in the "Back-Light" bar field, you can set the time (in
seconds) after which the backlighting is turned off if the unit has not been util-
ized.
Both settings serve to lengthen the operating time of the batteries.

Readability Test for a Transponder Media
Hw-Test
The transponder reader is activated in this menu and the readability of the
transponder media (like an ordercard etc.) can be tested.
The corresponding medium must be inserted in the hand-held unit (see figure
on page 17 – Transponder reader).
For this test, the unit must be equipped with a transponder-reader
unit (optional!).
