Lubrication & Maintenance instructions
B- LUBRICATION
All multi-speed units and spiral bevel gearboxes are supplied without oil. For the standard units,
the recommended lubricant is oil ISO VG 150 (viscosity = 150 cSt@40°C). Recommended
lubricants are given in the table below. Bearing housings requiring grease lubrication are supplied
charged with grease. (Further greasing via grease nipple provided on upper part).

CAUTION: For synthetic oil not listed above, please consult factory.
(*) These oil are suitable for very high or very low temperature where mineral oils are not
suitable. The quality of oil seal fitted must be in accordance with the operating temperature.
Certain synthetic lubricants will not mix with mineral oils. Suitable paint must also be used as
well as viton, teflon of fluon seals ... refer to suppliers.
B-1. OIL FILLING
The gearboxes are supplied with an oil fill plug that includes a vent.
Important: While filling, allow sufficient time for the oil to find its level before final checking.
Oil splash lubrication
The oil level must not exceed the middle of the sight glass or level screw (painted red). This level
must be maintained between oil changes.
External oil forced lubrication
The external lubrication pump must start before the machine motion.
Seal-less gearboxes
The oil level must not exceed the indicated level (see specific drawing or red mark on level gauge)
to avoid any leakage from labyrinth seals.
