Assembly instructions
Note:
When removing and assembling the parts in the interior please note the chapters in the
workshop manual.
1)
Remove the dashboard trim and remove the interior trim
a) Remove the side dashboard cover using a removal tool. (Fig. 01)
b) Remove the lower dashboard cover on the driver's side, as well as the cover around the
bonnet release. (Fig. 01)
c)
Drill the hole for the activation switch to the left of the steering wheel with a Ø 5.0 mm drill
before and then to Ø 19 mm. (Fig. 02)
d) Insert the activation switch into the drilled hole and tighten it with the union nut from the
back. (Fig. 03)
Make sure that the plug on the front of the panel is clean.
e) Lift the access panel cover on the driver's side.
2)
Remove interior trim of door sill trim and in the boot
a) Lift the rear seat on the driver's side, as well as the trim of the door sill trim and remove the
panel of the C-pillar.
b) Lift out the trunk floor, the shelf and the hat rack.
Remove the left luggage compartment side panel.
3)
Electrical connection
(Plug as in point 3)
Note:
The pick-off of the signals can be done using „current thieves". In this case, please use
only the enclosed parts or make sure that they are designed for the respective cable
cross-section before using your own cable connectors!
a) Connection of the 12V supply voltage (red) to the OBD connector
Pick-off: Data Link Connector Pin 16
b) Connect negative (black) to the vehicle mass at the OBD connector.
Pick-off: Data Link Connector Pin 5
c)
Connection of the CAN data signal (green-white and green cable) for the speed.
Pick-off:
- Green-white cable at the Data Link Connector Pin 6 (CAN Bus High)
- Green cable at Data Link Connector Pin 14 (CAN Bus Low)
d) Connect the switch cable to the wiring harness of the exhaust system.
e) Connecting the dimmer cable (blue) for light or dark LED on the activation switch.
Pick-off:
- To vehicle mass at the OBD connector (pin 5) for bright LED
- To 12V supply voltage at OBD connector (pin16) for dark LED
