INSTALLATION/PAIRING OF DEVICES
1.
Choose suitable positions for installation
of smoke detectors (fig. B) and mount
base plates using screws or the
double-sided adhesive tape (fig.
2.
Start the smoke detector by moving the
power switch to the 'ON' position (fig.
3.
Connect the smoke detectors wirelessly
as follows:
Press the grey button for one se-
3:1
cond until you hear one beep to initi-
ate pairing mode. The indicator light
will flash red (fig.

).
Repeat the same procedure on the
3:2
next device. After about two se-
conds you will hear two beeps from
each of the devices, and at the same
time the indicator light will flash red
twice to indicate that they are paired.
To pair more than two devices, re-
3:3
peat steps 3:1 and 3:2, using any al-
ready paired device and a new
device. If pairing does not occur,
pairing mode is cancelled after 15
seconds (fig.
).

4.
Attach the smoke detector to the base
plate by turning it clockwise (fig. ).
5.
Ensure that all smoke detectors are pai-
red by testing the alarm.

in mind that wall mounting may delay the acti-

TESTING THE SMOKE DETECTOR
Test the smoke detector by pressing the
outer part against the base plate for three
seconds until you hear a beep, or press in
the test button at the back.
1 sec
To test all paired devices, continue to press
the outer part for a further three seconds
while it beeps until all paired devices emit
an alarm (fig.
When one device is tested, it emits an alarm
in the form of a continuous beep for ten se-
conds. When a series of paired devices are
tested, other devices emit an alarm in the
click
form of a pulsating sound for about 18 se-
conds. The device where the test starts can
be silenced by pressing the outer part
again. The other devices will continue for 18
seconds until the end of the test period.
N.B. Test the smoke detector only by
pressing on the front or test button.
Testing with a naked flame or smoke can
cause a fire.
If a paired device does not emit an alarm
signal when tested, it may be out of range
or the battery may be dead. First check that
the power switch of the device is set to ON,
and check that you hear a beep when the
device is pressed against the base plate for
three seconds. Then move the smoke de-
tector closer to another paired device and
test it again, to check whether the distance
is too great and another paired device is

In normal operation, the smoke detector
emits no signals and does not flash.
