Recognizing a short
circuit or open load
Byte Z is the start address of the diagnosis area for this DDL
participant in the controller.
The diagnostic messages for the various voltages can be
enabled via the S6 DIP switch. The LED display is always active.
The message to the superior system can be switched off.

The bus coupler can recognize if there is a short circuit or open
load in a valve solenoid. The diagnostic data is the same in both
cases. A short circuit may occur if e.g. the isolation of the valve
solenoid has been damaged. An open load may occur if e.g. the
valve solenoid in a valve has blown or if a contact has been
interrupted.
A short circuit can only be recognized if the valve output is
controlled.
An off valve output can only be recognized if it is not
controlled.
