COMMISSIONING 230 V OR 100 - 120 V WITH OPTIONAL MAINS ADAPTER
230V
For operation on the 230 V or 100 - 120 V mains, use only the mains adapter 47PSU0010FEU/UK/US as
specified on the intermediate plate in the device! Switch the device on. After a few seconds, you will hear a regular
ticking; the device is in operation. The rechargeable battery indicator lights here at least red at intervals as a
function indicator.

With the mains adapter 47PSU0010FEU/UK/US a connected 12 V rechargeable battery can be charged easily

parallel to operation. The device is supplied by the rechargeable battery if the 230 V supply fails.
Disconnect the 9 V dry battery when operating with the mains adapter.
COMMISSIONING WITH SOLAR PANEL:
solar
Fix optional 20 W solar panel (Art. No.: 140641) with the retaining plate (Art. No.: 14462) to the device. The device
has a built-on solar charge regulator. Feed the cable into the housing through the cable inlet on the back of the
S.4 /
device and connect in the housing lid. Make sure that the polarity is correct. Trouble-free solar operation is only
FIG. 5
possible in connection with a 9 V battery or a 12 V rechargeable battery! Align the device with solar panel so that it
is facing South. Only check the rechargeable battery indicator in solar operation at dawn (without sunlight).
OPERATION:
LED
1
The CONTROL LED behind the button (LED1) lights up when the device is working trouble-free. If the LED lights
red, there is a fault. Faults can be caused by:
•
Rechargeable battery voltage weak, remedy: Recharge the battery
•
Battery voltage weak, remedy: Keep a spare battery ready, change the battery
•
Fence voltage too low, remedy: Set the potentiometer to a higher value, MODE: Select NORMAL
•
ARGUTECTOR value too low, remedy: Free fence from leakage currents (plants, short-circuits, etc.)
•
In case of interferences in the pulse sequence: Switch off the device for about 30 seconds, contact Service
(see below) if necessary (The device has a pulse interval of approx. 1.5 (normal) or 2 (slow) seconds. The
device must be repaired immediately if the interval is less than 1 second.)
•
Activate the display indicators for troubleshooting:
The display indicators can be activated with the push-button (LED1). One of the 6 modes can also be set with
LED

the push-button (LED1). The currently set mode is displayed by pressing the button briefly. All modes can then be
selected one by one by continuing to press the button. The mode selected last remains set after exiting the menu.
The device shows the rechargeable battery, fence voltage and Argutector values again after 5 seconds.
The rechargeable battery indicator (LED 2) provides information about the rechargeable battery or battery voltage.
LED
2
If the charging voltage of the solar panel/main adapter is greater than the voltage of the rechargeable battery/
battery, the solar indicator lights steadily in green: The solar panel charges the 12 V rechargeable battery but not
the 9V battery.
The fence voltage and Argutector indicator shows both values alternately.
The 6 LEDs indicate the fence output voltage in 1,000 V steps. The display builds up from the left. For minding
security at least 3 LEDs (3,000) should light up otherwise the voltage is too low. Possible causes:
• With fence:
Energy set too low with MODE and POWER regulator, heavy plant growth on the fence,
poor insulators, short-circuit on metal posts or fence too long
• Without fence:
Device is defective, see Service
The 6 LEDs indicate the fence insulation by the Argutector display in 6 stages. The display builds up from the right.
If all 6 LEDs light up, the fence insulation is good and little energy is required to maintain minding security. The less
number of LEDs are alight, the poorer the fence insulation due to leakage currents (plant growth, branches fallen
onto the fence system, short-circuit, poor earthing). Increased energy is required to keep the fence secure.
The output energy can be set between 50% and 100% of maximum energy with the POWER regulator. The LEDs
POWER
of the fence voltage display show the currently set value during the setting. For example, one lit LED indicates
an output energy of 50%, 3 lit LEDs an output energy of 70% and 6 lit LEDs an output energy of 100%. After 2
seconds this display switches off the last set output energy is retained.

The following modes can be selected:
Normal 1
1
Normal pulse sequence (1.5 seconds) The maximum output energy can be achieved. The economy circuit regulates
Nor-
mal
automatically. The max. output energy of 100% to 50% of the maximum value can be selected with the POWER
regulator. A higher output energy than set is not output in the „Normal" mode together with the POWER regulator.

NIGHT MODE 4

SLOW MODE 5

6
NIGHT-ONLY MODE 6
No pulse transmission by day, normal pulse sequence (1.5 seconds) at night Regulation by APN*
* APN (Automatic Power Niveau): The output energy of the device is set initially to the values of the POWER regulator (50%, 60%, 70%, etc.) and
the actual fence voltage is measured continuously. If the output voltage is below 5,000 V or drops below this value, the device gradually increases
the output energy until the output voltage is above 5,000 V or the maximum energy of the device (100%) is reached. In order to ensure the minding
security with the lowest possible energy requirement, the output power can also be turned down automatically when the fence voltage is above the
minimum minding voltage of 5,000 V and the value set by the POWER regulator. This guarantees that the output energy can never drop below the
value of the POWER regulator.
This intelligent regulation ensures that the set voltage or minimum minding voltage on the device of 5,000 V is always maintained at the same time
as optimizing the device's energy requirement.
The device is in the „Normal" mode the first time that it is switched on. If the device is switched off (up to 7 days)
or the rechargeable battery is changed, the device starts back up in the last set mode.
EARTHING:
Good earthing of the fence is extremely important for trouble-free operation and optimum performance of the de-
vice, therefore it should be earthed in a moist and overgrown place if possible. Drive in 2 earth stakes (1 m long). If
the ground is dry and the fence is long, an additional earth conductor with intermediate earths (every 50 m) should
be laid along the fence.
CHECKING THE EARTHING:
Provoke a short-circuit by driving a metal rod into the ground against the pasture fence wire (not plastic) about
50 m away from the pasture fence device. The pasture fence device should now only light up maximum 1 LED
(moist ground) or maximum 2 LEDs (dry ground), otherwise the number and/or length of the earth stakes should be
increased.
MALFUNCTION:
Disconnect all voltage sources. After 20 sec. connect the voltage sources again. The energiser will go on with the
last known adjustment after pushed „ON".
SERVICE:
Repairs may only be done by qualified persons.
Only the spare parts prescribed by the manufacturer may be used.
