8. Fuse and battery replacement.

 Warning! Disconnect from the circuit under test, turn off
the instrument and remove the test leads before opening the
case to replace the fuse or batteries.
 Warning! To ensure continued protection, replace the fuse
only with the type given in the specifications.
To replace the fuse:
a) Use a screwdriver to remove the screw from the battery
compartment cover on the rear of the instrument. Remove
the cover. Retain the screw and cover.
b) Remove the fuse from the holder and replace with the
correct type given in section 4; "Specifications" . A spare
fuse may also be stored in the dedicated recess in the
battery compartment.
c) Refit the battery compartment cover and secure with
the screw. Turn the instrument on and check for correct
operation.
To replace the batteries:
a) Use a screwdriver to remove the screw from the battery
compartment cover on the rear of the instrument. Remove
the cover. Retain the screw and cover.
b) Remove the battery holder from the compartment and
carefully disconnect the electrical connector.
c) Remove the 6 exhausted cells and replace with 6 fresh cells
of the type given in section 4: "Specifications", observing
correct cell polarity. Do not mix old and new cells.
d) Observing the correct polarity, reconnect the electrical
connector and place the battery holder into the battery
compartment.
e) Refit the battery compartment cover and secure with
the screw. Turn the instrument on and check for correct
operation.
f ) Dispose of the removed cells in accordance with local
regulations.
9 Cleaning, repair and calibration

To clean the instrument, use a damp cloth moistened with
water and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives, strong
cleaning agents or solvents such as Petrol, Turpentine or
Alcohol, as these may damage the plastic surfaces. Ensure the
instrument is completely dry before switching on.

Components distributor. Please return the instrument with all
accessories and provide full details of the fault. For further

To ensure accurate and reliable operation of this instrument,
calibration should be carried out every 12 months, or
more frequently if subject to heavy use or the instrument is
suspected of being inaccurate. Ensure all accessories and
leads are included with the returned instrument, as they form
part of the calibration procedure.
