6. ADJUSTMENT OF HEIGHT
The height is adjusted via screws I (Fig. 3) of the rotary
gauge and stop rod J (Fig. 3). Following flushing of
the cutting face of the router with the surface of the
headpiece or wood, the cutting depth may be adjusted
to up to 60 mm.
The three screws in the rotary depth gauge enable the
user to preset three different depths. After regulating
the depth of penetration of the adjustment tube J (Fig.
3), tighten the wing nut K (Fig. 3).
To adjust or correct with precision the previously set
depth, turn the nut J1 (Fig. 3), which will cause the
length limiter of the adjustment tube J (Fig. 3) to shift,
to a maximum of 2 mm. The nut has a strip which is
divided into graduations of 0.1 mm each.
7. BLOCKING OF THE BASE
The base can be locked in any position using knob D.
When knob D is loosened, the base will automatically
return to its highest position due to the action of the
springs incorporated in the columns.
Following completion of any job, flick
the switch to OFF and release the base
using knob D before leaving the router,
which must be on a flat surface.
8. LOCKING THE ROUTING DEPTH
Only for AS93 trimmers.
The routing depth can only be locked in machines
which have a non-locking pulse button, according to
the current Safety Standards.
AS93 trimmers may be equipped with a non-locking
pulse button, Ref. 9515004, which is a compulsory
prerequisite for locking the routing depth. Only if the
said change of switch has taken place can the cutting
depth be locked, by inserting two M8 nuts, Ref. 1185003,
in the treaded axis M (Fig. 3), one above and one below
the body of attachment B (Fig. 3), enabling them to
block it at any point.
Warning! When working with the depth locked, the tool
is permanently held outside the surface of the base, so
it is important to:
- Wait for the machine to stop completely before
leaving it.
- Leave it on the base, on a flat surface which leaves
the tool free.
- Cancel the locked depth and return to the normal
conditions of knob locking as soon as the task has
6
been completed.
9. USE OF PARALLEL GUIDE
Parallel guide N (Fig. 5) is used for edge trimming and
cutting differently shaped grooves in accordance with
various profile shapes.
For edge trimming and long life of cutters, carbide tipped
cutters are especially useful.
Parallel guide N (Fig. 5) is placed in base grooves O (Fig.5)
and secured in place using the two knobs P (Fig. 5).
ADJUSTING THE BRACKET OF THE MACHINE
1.- Normal Adjustment- Loosen knobs P1 and P2, move
the bracket to the desired position.
2.- Precision adjustment- Having moved the bracket and
fixed it in the approximate position, loosen knob P1 and
regulate using the adjustment wheel Z. Once the precise
position has been obtained, secure knob P1.
10. USE OF TEMPLATE GUIDES
Template guides are used for copy cutting of richly shaped
patterns. Selected template guide Q (Fig. 6) is fixed to
base R (Fig. 6) using the two screws S (Fig. 6).
When copying, a diffrence in size between the template
and the routed item becomes apparent. The difference
between the radius of the template guide and the radius
of the tool must always be taken into account when
preparing the template.
11. DUST COLLECTOR ATTACHMENT
When mounting the attachment T (Fig. 5), put it in
central notch R of the base (Fig. 5), orientating the
connection towards the front and fixing it in place
with screws U (Fig. 5).
The FR66 machine can be coupled directly to the aspira-
tion tube of aspirator AS182K, AS282K using connector
T (Fig. 5), or to the AS182K, AS282K or other industrial
aspirator via the 3.5 m Standard Dust Collector Atta-
chment 6446073, V (Fig. 5).
12. DUST COLLECTION NOZZLE SUPPLEMENT
To ensure that the suction of the machine is sufficient
when working with trimmer bits of less than 30 mm in
diameter, use the dust collection nozzle T (Fig. 5) with
the included supplement A1 (Fig. 5).
If you are using trimmer bits with a diameter of more
than 30 mm and up to 40 mm, remove the supplement
A1 (Fig. 5) from the dust collection nozzle T (Fig. 5) and
work with only the nozzle. To re-attach the supplement,
simply press it firmly into the nozzle slot.
13. OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
