Extended Installation equipment
The following DCN equipment can be
used to extend and adapt the basic
discussion system configuration.
LBB 3514/00 Trunk-cable splitter
Allows trunk-lines to be split and run in
diverse directions as well as providing
two regenerative tap-offs.
LBB 3515/00 Tap-off unit
Used to create short circuit proof tap-
off points on the trunk-line cabling. Each
tap-off connector on the tap off unit can
accommodate two discussion units.
LBB 3506/00 Extension Power Supply
Unit. Used to supply power to a
maximum of 180 additional discussion
units.
LBB 3508/00 Audio Media Interface Unit
Enables analogue equipment such as
broadcast, recording, and wired or
wireless sound distribution equipment to
be connected to the DCN system.
Includes a built-in power supply to
supply an additional 90 units.
3. Control equipment
The Central Control Unit (CCU) LBB 3500 is
the heart of the DCN discussion system,
providing facilities for controlling delegate and
chairman microphone units as well as
providing facilities for simultaneous
interpretation, and audio inputs and outputs.

Installation and Operating manual.
Power supply to supply up to a
maximum of 90 discussion units
without extension cables and
regenerative units (i.e tap-off units etc.).
Control facilities for controlling up to
240 contribution units.
Digital audio control and processing for
16 HiQ digital audio channels for
contribution e.g. microphone channels,
and 16 HiQ digital audio channels for
distribution e.g. language channels.
Automatic audio equaliser for adjusting
the frequency response of the delegate
and chairman loudspeaker channels
Three microphone operational modes:
(1) 'Open': Microphone key-control
(2) 'Override': Microphone key-control
with override (First-In-First-Out)
(3) 'Voice' activated.
Each mode of microphone operation
allows the selection of 1, 2 or 4 micro
phones to be switched on concurrently.

Basic Simultaneous Interpretation
facilities providing control for as many
as 11 interpretation channels plus the
floor channel.
