10.Troubleshooting
1.
Without pressing microphone
buttons, two or more LED-rings are
illuminated (the red LEDs of the
relevant units are not illuminated)
Possible cause
Address conflict : Both units have the
same address, due to the replacement
of a defective unit or by adding an
initialised unit with the same address.
Solution
Press the microphone button on one of
the two conflicting units or:
de-initialise the conflicting units using
their 'de-init' switches, and re-initialise
them by pressing their microphone
buttons (see section 7 System
initialisation).
2. Temporary no microphone reaction,
and no sound from unit loudspeakers.
Possible cause
Trunkline overload. Visible when CCU
overload LEDs (fig.2
to max. sound levels being distributed
to unit loudspeakers when the volume
control is set at max; and when
speaking loudly into one of the
microphones.
Solution
Reduce load on the trunklines by
reducing the number of units, and/or
the length of the trunk cables. Other
power consuming units can also be
reduced. Refer to to the DCN
installation/operating manual chapter 3
Installation graph for valid calculations.

Possible cause
Trunkline not terminated, open ended
extension cables - for example the
output of a unit is connected to an
open ended extension cable.
Solution
Check that no open ended extension
cables are connected to the last unit of
a trunk-line. Automatic termination is
provided by a unit if no cables are
connected to the 6-pole output socket
of the unit.
Possible causes
Loudspeaker volume to loud
Solution
Reduce gain using volume control on
CCU.
Possible cause
Distance between units to small
(microphone to loudspeaker)
Solution
Increase distance between units
Possible cause
To close to other microphone units,
when using headphones to listen to the
floor speaker.
Solution
Increase the distance between units or
disconnect headphones when not in
use.
