Safety
2.1
Overview
This chapter contains important safety information needed
for the proper mounting and installation of the unit.
2.2
General safety precautions
General accepted safety precautions, in particular the
applicable precautions relating to the handling of live
electrical equipment, must be followed when operating
the system. Failure to observe these safety precautions
may result in personal injury or damage to the product.
It is understood that safety rules within individual
companies vary. If a conflict exists between the material
contained in these instructions and the rules of a
company using this system, the more stringent rules take
precedence.
2.3
Intended use
The products of the ND 7000 series are advanced digital
readouts for use on manually operated machine tools.
In combination with linear and angle encoders, digital
readouts of the ND 7000 series return the position of the
tool in more than one axis and provide further functions
for operating the machine tool.
The products of this series
must only be used in commercial applications and in
an industrial environment
must be mounted on a suitable stand or holder to
ensure the correct and intended operation of the
product
are intended for indoor use in an environment in which
the contamination caused by humidity, dirt, oil and
lubricants complies with the requirements of the spec-
ifications
The products support the use of peripheral
devices from different manufacturers.
HEIDENHAIN cannot make any statements
on the intended use of these devices. The
information on their intended use, which is
provided in the respective documentation,
must be observed.
