Short knee orthosis
Indications
• Mild to moderate strain of the tibial
and/or fibular collateral ligaments
• Mild arthritis
• Following arthroscopic meniscectomy
• Mild instabilities of the knee joint
• Traumatic or degenerative changes at
the knee joint
Contraindications
None known at present.

Fitting instructions

• Open the thigh and calf straps.
Remove the straps from one of the
two Velcro strips.
• Pull the brace up over the leg with the
help of the loops at the top of the
brace. Position the polycentric joint so
that the middles of the hinges are
level with the upper border of the
kneecap.
• First tighten the calf strap, then the
thigh strap.

Care instructions

It can be washed by hand with a mild
soap/detergent. Rinse carefully. Do not
wring. Leave to dry naturally. Do not
iron. Please remove the joints before
washing the brace.
Caution: Soap residues may cause skin
irritation or damage to the material.
The brace can be worn in both fresh and
salt water. Rinse the brace with clean
water afterwards. Leave to dry
naturally. When used normally the
brace is maintenance-free. However,
after using the brace in water, the
hinges can be lubricated using Teflon™
spray.
    

Storage instructions

Keep the brace in a cool, dry place and do
not expose to direct sunlight.
